Workshop Outline

8:30 am - 9:00 am Registration & Continental Breakfast

Participants will be involved in the following conversation:

1. Understand and appreciate the multidimensional fluid and synergistic nature of Latino identity.

2. Understand the influence of context on Latino identity.

3. Recognize the differences between ethnicity, race and nationality.

4. Understand how power, privilege, and oppression are fluid and will fluctuate depending on identity dimensions

    and contexts.

5. Identify the three major components of Falicov's MECA model.

6. Identify at least three barriers to treatment.

7. Conduct an ethno-cultural interview.
