| Participants will be involved in the following conversation:
1. Understand and appreciate the saliency of culture and mental health.
2. The interconnections between culture as a major source of illness and the healing process.
3. Recognize and appropriately address racial, cultural, and gender biases in health and mental health delivery
systems.
4. Be exposed to multicultural terminologies, their meanings and applications in cross cultural interventions.
5. Be sensitive to the historical factors associated with client mistrust with mental health in general and how to
help your client overcome "healthy mistrust".
6. Appreciate the significant role of spirituality and faith in cross-cultural interventions.
7. Be cognisant of some current legal and ethical issues in working with diverse populations.
